Have you or a loved one experienced a burn injury?
The human epidermis, aka your skin, is not only the largest organ in the body but is also one of the most resilient being able to heal itself quickly in most cases except for burn injuries. Burn injuries can leave scarring, change your appearance, and in some cases can leave damaging effects staying with the individual for the rest of their lives. If the individual's burn is due to the negligence of another individual or company, that individual is more than likely owed compensation.
Types of burns:
Burn Injuries from Light
Burn Injuries from Thermal sources
Burn Injuries from Chemicals
Burn Injuries from Electrical sources
Degrees Of Burns:
There are three different types of burns; 1st degree, 2nd degree, and 3rd degree.
First degree burns are superficial and damage the top layer of skin (the epidermis) – similar to the level of a sunburn
Second degree burns are those extending into the second layer of skin, the dermis.
Third degree burns damage the epidermis, the dermis, and fat tissue beneath the layers of skin. Third degree burns can cause permanent damage the skin’s nerve endings.
